More presenters have started to influence the lives of young people, as female presenters have grown in popularity. Many of the female presenters have a musical past such as Heart presenter Rochelle Humes from The Saturdays and Emma Bunton from The Spice Girls. These female presenters have been known to entice listeners in with their energy and insider knowledge of the music industry.

Emma Bunton– Heart Breakfast and Sundays 7PM-10PM

Baby Spice now presents the ever-growing breakfast show on Heart. She also hosts an evening show on Sundays. Both shows involve quizzes, easy listening music for all ages, up to date popular and current affairs discussion and of course – the latest chart hits. When tuning in to her show listeners no longer hear her as just a former Spice Girl, but as a knowledgeable presenter with incredible experience of the music world.

Fearne Cotton- Radio1 and 2 Mid Mornings

Fearne Cotton is now best known for co-hosting a late-night panel show on ITV 2, but she also was part of a big team at BBC Radio. Before she left in 2015, Fearne Cotton hosted the mid-morning show on Radio 1 for over 10 years, which explored up-and-coming artists and got them involved with here silly and whimsical sense of humour. Her most memorable shows were those which engaged with the audience the most through social media and direct calls. Cotton was known for her unflappable ability to deal with all kinds of guests and her easy demeanour. Interestingly she’s also married to Jesse Wood, the son of Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood. They have three children together.

Annie Mac- Radio 1 Future Sounds

One of the most popular radio presenters and DJ’s in Britain, Annie Mac introduces new sounds to the ears of the UK. Popular with clubbers, ravers and festival-goers, her show explores a wide variety of genres throughout music. Her smooth tones have accompanied some of the most legendary DJ mixes on BBC Radio, most probably second only to Pete Tong himself. Annie Mac is also married to noted reggae producer and selecta Toddla T, and they often tour together playing DJ sets.

Rochelle Humes- Heart

The former Saturdays member, and wife to former JLS member Marvin Humes, is no stranger to the music industry. Rochelle’s show plays feel good songs to get you in the Saturday mood. Whether you are busy relaxing in the sun, rushing around cleaning the home, or getting ready for a big night out – Rochelle has a song for you!

Yasmine Evans- Radio 1 Xtra

The Manchester-born 26-year-old, started DJing at the young age of 15 to build up her experience. She worked hard to become a presenter and DJ on Radio 1 Xtra from 1PM on weekdays. Her music taste is on the pulse of what young people like in Britain, which is important for the demographic of Radio 1xtra. They play a mix of the latest pop & rnb bangers but also classic dance and hip-hop tunes from the 90s and early 2000s.
